Oakland, Calif. – September 13, 2017: Jack London Square hosts its fifth and final block party of the summer with Oyster Oyster, Saturday, from 12 PM to 6 PM. The free event features Oyster dishes from local vendors and favorite eateries, local craft beers, and live music. The block party is also child and dog friendly.
“The series of five, food-centered events we’ve had in Jack London Square with our partners has been a great way to highlight the burgeoning food scene that’s happening in Oakland and the East Bay,” said Port of Oakland Director of Commercial Real Estate Pamela Kershaw.
The summer block parties have brought thousands of foodies to the Oakland waterfront over the summer in search of creative, tasty food dishes, high quality local fare and classic favorites. The Eat Real Festival, scheduled for September 22 through 24, will dramatically increase visitor numbers at Jack London Square for the year.
A variety of oyster dishes, including grilled, Rockefeller, ceviche, and tacos will be available. Vendors with food trucks or booths include Lungomare, The Cook and Her Farmer, Canasta Kitchen, El Tacos Oaxaco, The Lumpia Company, The Golden Shrimp, Bliss Pops, Gotta Love Kettle Corn, Nieves La Unica, and The Good Cider USA.
Transportation options to the Square include the Alameda/SF Bay Ferry, the free “B” that runs along Broadway, public transit, biking, walking and driving. For directions to Jack London Square, please go here.
