Oakland, Calif. – July 11, 2023: The Oakland Board of Port Commissioners elected Barbara Leslie for a second term as Board President. Yui Hay Lee will begin his second term as the First Vice President. Andreas Cluver will replace outgoing commissioner Cestra “Ces” Butner as Second Vice President.
Port Board President Leslie joined the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners in 2018. She assumed the role of First Vice President from 2020-2022, before becoming President in 2022. She has also served as the CEO of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce since 2014.
“I am honored to be selected by my fellow commissioners to serve a second term in this leadership role,” said Port Board President Barbara Leslie. “I am looking forward to continuing our work, in partnership with our stakeholders, on numerous green initiatives that will help the Port achieve zero emissions from operations. Our Board passionately supports responsible growth and appreciates Port staff’s commitment to finding and implementing innovative solutions to accomplish this goal.”
This is also Commissioner Yui Hay Lee’s second consecutive term as First Vice President. He held the post of Second Vice President from 2020-2022. He joined the Board of Port Commissioners in 2018. Commissioner Lee is the former President and CEO of the Oakland based YHLA Architects, which he founded in 1980.
Second Vice President Commissioner Andreas Cluver returns to a leadership role on the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners. Mr. Cluver was the President from 2020-2022 and the First Vice President from 2018-2020. He joined the Port Board in 2016. Mr. Cluver is the Secretary-Treasurer of the Alameda County Building and Trades Association.
