Dragon Gate restaurant opens in Jack London Square
Oakland, Calif. – January 3, 2025: The Port of Oakland welcomes the popular Oakland based restaurant Dragon Gate Bar & Grille in Jack London Square. Located at 1 Franklin Street, the eatery sits on the edge of the Oakland estuary with beautiful waterfront views.
“Dragon Gate Bar & Grille is a perfect addition to the dining and entertainment scene at Jack London Square,” said Jonathan Veach, Port of Oakland Chief Real Estate Officer. “This new establishment showcases Oakland’s waterfront and adds another element of fun for customers with its karaoke rooms.”
The new 10,500 square-foot location provides a sophisticated, cozy atmosphere. The venue’s chef prepares traditional Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine, featuring bun cha, tofu, fried prawns, and tasty pancakes, accompanied by a variety of teas and other beverages
Dragon Gate is co-owned by Johnny Chang and Phu Voong. Designed by Voong, the new restaurant offers spacious dining options and big screens for watching sports events. Dragon Gate is also known for its performance spaces and several karaoke rooms.
“Every detail of the new Dragon Gate was selected to help our patrons experience and enjoy their visit, whether it’s an intimate meal or a special occasion,” said Mr. Voong. “We offer expansive, comfortable seating and specially made tables to enjoy drinks or watch a game on one of our large monitors. Our spacious bar area is perfect for a date night or a party.
The popular Asian restaurant recently celebrated its grand opening just before for the holidays.
