Oakland, Calif. – August 21, 2019: For the first time Jack London Square welcomes the Oakland M.O.V.E.ment Festival (Motivating Others, Valuing Everyone), a fitness-focused event, to the waterfront this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free, family-friendly community day is in its third year.
The festival is focused on inspiring people of all ages to begin or continue a path to a healthy lifestyle that includes fitness as a major element of that journey.
Professional fitness instructors in the Bay Area will be giving free workouts on the Ferry Lawn at the foot of Clay Street throughout the day including yoga, kick-boxing and Zumba. Vendors will be offering the latest in fitness beverages and refreshments.
Schedule of activities:
10 a.m. Yoga with Shakira Scott of Black to Yoga
11 a.m. Bootcamp with Shakina McNeal of PinPoint Training Facility
12 p.m. Zumba with Cararh Herring of WorkoutTemps
1 p.m. Total Body Training with Marc Tatum
2 p.m. HIIT with Leah Recania of Strong Babes
3 p.m. Kickboxing with Leyder Chapman
