Accessibility

At The Port of Oakland, we strive to meet online usability and design requirements recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in its Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA. In doing so, we strive to make this website accessible to all users.

Compliance with access standards requires the use of automated tools, analysis, and usability testing. The following screen reader applications and browser combinations for customers with vision disabilities were tested: JAWS/IE and Chrome, VoiceOver/Safari, and NVDA/Firefox. We recommend using the most current version (or the version released just before the current version) of the assistive technology application, along with the current version of the appropriate browser. On mobile devices, we recommend TalkBack for Android devices and VoiceOver for the iPhone.

We continually strive to provide content that is compatible with assistive technologies and screen readers. We also continue to test and modify our website to improve accessibility. Please contact us at the phone number or email address below if you encounter usability or accessibility issues you would like us to address.
