Oakland, Calif. – May 16, 2018: The Jack London Square Art & Wine Festival is Saturday at the Oakland waterfront at the foot of Broadway from noon to 5 p.m. The Festival will showcase artists, music, dancers, children’s activities and unique vendors. Attendees can purchase food and beverages including craft beers and small eats. The public can also participate in interactive art and enjoy live painting demonstrations.
Those who purchase wine tasting tickets will enjoy samples from more than 40 Northern California vintners. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit a local non-profit, The Stride Center. The Oakland Mural Festival holds its closing ceremony in Jack London Square concurrent with the Art & Wine Festival Saturday, May 19. Bike tours are being offered to see the nine new murals being painted in the Jack London District as part of Oakland Art Month.
Muralists and other local artists are displaying some of their works at the Jack London Square pop-up gallery at 54 Washington Street on the ground floor. The exhibit is free and open to the public during the Art & Wine Festival.
