Oakland, Calif. – April 11, 2018: It’s a week of celebration at Oakland International Airport. New nonstop Paris service, the 10-year anniversary of Hawaiian Airlines at OAK and, today, the introduction of the Airport’s newest airline partner, Contour Airlines. Starting today, Contour begins offering daily service to Del Norte County Regional Airport (CEC), located in Crescent City, CA.
CEC Airport Director Matthew Leitner identified the Bay Area as a destination with “great demand,” addressing the connectivity provided by OAK in a statement, noting, “Oakland is a Southwest Airlines focus city, which means that Southwest offers numerous flights from Oakland as an alternative to SFO.”
Bryant L. Francis, Director of Aviation for the Port of Oakland said, “I’m pleased to welcome Contour Airlines to Oakland, and its arrival is part of an important trend. Contour’s selection of Oakland as its first destination out of Crescent City reflects a positive pattern of engagement we are seeing here. This new regional route will benefit each of our cities and regions with convenient, daily access.”
With service to Oakland, Contour is the first commercial air carrier at CEC since August 2017.
