The Maritime Committee of the Board of Port Commissioners was a standing committee of the Board and reported directly to the Board. It was comprised of three Board members appointed by the President of the Board, one of whom served as the Chair. The Committee met once a month, or as otherwise convened by the Chair.

The purpose of the Maritime Committee was to thoroughly review and make recommendations with regard to strategic and policy level decisions.
