Vision 2000

Vision 2000 - Joint Intermodel Terminal
Opened March 2002
This 85-acre, near-dock facility has the capacity to initially accommodate 250,000 containers per year and the capability to expand to meet future growth. Read the press release about the opening of this new terminal.
 
 
Vision 2000 - Hanjin Terminal
Opened June 2001
The Hanjin Terminal is served by four Super post-panamax ship-to-shore gantry cranes manufactured by ZPMC of Shanghai, China, each with the capacity to lift over sixty metric tons and with a sixty-five meter outreach, capable of working vessels up to twenty-two containers wide. There are a total of 332 reefer plugs, and 1,231 parking slots in addition to container stacking capabilities. Annual container capacity exceeds 200,000 lifts per year, and near-dock intermodal connections are available within 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) of the terminal. Vision 2000 - SSA Terminal Facility
Opened November 1, 2002
Construction of the new SSA Terminals facility begain with pile driving and re-configuration of the Estuary. The SSA Terminals facility will be open in the second quarter of 2002 and will bring an additional 540,000 TEUs to the Port's annual container capacity. SSA Terminal, Inc. already has a major investment at the Port of Oakland, operating the Charles P. Howard and Matson Terminals.
 
 
-50 ft. Dredging Program
Began October 2001
The Port of Oakland's dredging program is essential if it is to remain internationally competitive. The proposed dredging program will maintain Oakland's position as an international cargo gateway. Vision 2000 - Shoreline Park
Opened January 2003
The park will have a mixture of new facilities -- an educational
center, shoreline walkways, fishing piers, picnic areas, a sandy beach
