Investing in the future of our youth is one way we're building sustainable
communities. By helping our young people reach their goals in education,
they will in turn leave a lasting impression on society.
Through the Port of Oakland Employees' Scholarship
Program and the Port 's chapter of the Asian Employee Association
(AEA), we honor Oakland high school students and qualified children
of Port of Oakland employees with scholarships in the amount of
up to $5,000.
We award students who will be attending a four-year college, university, community college or vocational school and who excel in academic performance, community service and extracurricular activities. We also evaluate students based on a written personal essay about their goals and life experiences.
